Candidate for Treasurer & Police Commission

Ralph Barra has dedicated decades of service to Middlebury through leadership on numerous boards and commissions, including the Board of Selectmen, Police Commission, Recycling Commission, Park & Recreation Commission, and Public Works Commission. A graduate of the University of New Haven with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting, Ralph brings unmatched financial expertise to town service. He is an Army veteran and retired after 32 years as an Accounting Specialist with the State of Connecticut’s Office of Policy and Management.

A proud Middlebury resident for 48 years, Ralph has been an active member of the Democratic Town Committee for over three decades. Together with his wife, Maryann, he raised two children in Middlebury and remains committed to preserving the values of integrity, transparency, and dedication in local government. Ralph is honored to seek election as both Town Treasurer and Police Commissioner to continue serving the town he has long called home.
